Geometric Gates
Example of gates drawn on different transformations.
Overview
Gating is the foundation of flow analysis, FlowLogic offers 6 Different Geometric gates.
Gates in FlowLogic maintain the transformation in which they were originally drawn.

Note: In some cases with linear/log conversions the extrapolated point will tend to +/- infinity or 2 lines in a polygon will join beyond the user specified point, to maintain mathamatical correctness we draw the lines to their eventual intersection even if the distance between them is so small that no events could exist between them.

Rectangle
The Rectangle gate is the most commonly used gate, it is a simple rectangle drawn on a 2 dimensional plot.

Ellipse
The Ellipse gate is a circular gate which can be drawn on a 2 dimensional plot, if the transformation for the plot differs to where it was drawn some of its touch points will be disabled due to the fact that the shape can be deformed significantly.

Spider/Quadrant
The Spider/Quadrant can be used to create 4 separate populations, the 4 'legs' of the spider will move with the center point (but they may be anchored by right clicking on the plot and selecting "Quadrant Anchor" from the menu.

Polygon
The polygon gate allows for free drawing of multiple points to create a polygon, a Right Click while drawing the initial polygon will close the shape.

AutoGate
The Autogate is drawn with a single click on a 2 dimensional plot (Contour, Density plot, etc.) which will then create a polygon around all adjoining areas with a similar density.

Marker
The marker is a 1 Dimensional gate which can be drawn on a histogram
